and I assume/expect/hope that one of these days something will pop up to ask me to “switch” to the now-available OD cloud.

The only thing I had to do was “connect” to the OneDrive cloud. What’s the alternative?Īnd I didn’t need to install the OneDrive app on either device. In order to backup/sync *SOME* cloud service has to bridge the devices. I don’t like MS much but I guess I dislike them less than google and since it seemed that Samsung was “greasing the path” to switching to OneDrive, I made OneDrive account. So samsung tells me they’re shutting down their cloud and explictly says “get a OneDrive” account. I thought that was great, because the only alternative at the time was to use the google cloud and have a low-level, gut distrust of google. What came with the tablet/phone is to use the Samsung cloud. The Backup/Sync stuff is built in and uses a cloud storage system to effect it.

Really? Why would anyone use Microsoft drive anyway, anywhere… I’m sure that it is a “good” app, I’m sure it works, but more Microsoft? Throw the baby out with the bathwater.
